What community activities does Reliance offer?

We host weekly outings to Cedar Point, the Toledo Metroparks, go-cart racing, bowling, swimming, and out-of-town trips. We also run monthly family nights and annual group vacations.

Are outings open to private pay clients?

Yes. Community Life programming is open to every Reliance client regardless of funding source. DODD IO, SELF, Level One, or private pay.

Who supervises the outings?

Trained direct support professionals attend every outing alongside our Activity Coordinator, with backup transportation and an on-call RN reachable through our coordinator line.

What are family nights like?

Family nights are monthly dinner-and-activity gatherings for our clients, their families, and our staff. They give everyone a low-pressure space to connect and build friendships.

Where do the annual group vacations go?

Destinations rotate yearly based on what clients vote for. Past trips have included accessible getaways within Ohio and to neighboring states with full staff support.

What if a client cannot do big rides?

Not a problem. We split the group so coaster fans ride and other staff stay with clients enjoying the boardwalk, shows, or shaded seating.

Is this covered by my DODD waiver?

Community Group Activities are billable under IO, SELF, and Level One when written into the ISP. Your coordinator handles the paperwork.
